Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- evaporated milk - 3/4 c
- grated cheese
- dry bread crumbs
- head cabbage - 1 item
How to make cabbage casserole:
Cook cabbage. Drain. Save water. Melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add bread crumbs. Stir and set aside.Melt 3 tablespoons of butter. Add flour, evaporated milk, 3/4 tablespoons of water from cabbage and salt. Thicken.
Butter casserole dish. Layer 1/2 of cabbage, white sauce and cheese. Repeat. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
