Buttery peanut brittle
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- water - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1 c
- peanuts - 2 c
How to make buttery peanut brittle:
Heat and stir sugar, syrup and water in 3-quart saucepan until sugar dissolves. When syrup boils, blend in butter. Stir often after 230°. Add nuts at 280°. Stir constantly to hard crack stage (305°). Quickly stir in soda, mixing well. Pour onto cookie sheet. Stretch thin by lifting and pulling from edges with forks. Loosen from pan as soon as possible. Break up.
