Buttermilk griddle cakes
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- corn meal - 1 Tbsp
- melted cooking oil or shortening - 1 Tbsp
How to make buttermilk griddle cakes:
Sift the flour with salt, baking soda, baking powder, corn meal and sugar. Beat eggs and add buttermilk and shortening. Add sifted ingredients and beat until smooth. Drop by spoonfuls on hot griddle.
