  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • sticks oleo or shortening - 2 item

How to make buttermilk cake:

Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Mix soda with buttermilk. Add to mixture; beat well. Sift flour 3 times before measuring, then add salt. Add in small amounts at a time. Add vanilla. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured tube pan.
