Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 1 c
  • almond extract - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • sifted flour

How to make butter cookies:

Cream butter with salt until soft. Blend in sugar (1/4 cup at a time) until fluffy. Beat in egg and extract. Stir in flour. Pack dough in cookie press and shape on sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.

For Chocolate: Blend into shortening (or butter) 1 ounce melted and cooled unsweetened chocolate.
