Broccoli cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 c
- chicken bouillon cube - 1 item
- pkg - 1 oz
- medium carrot, grated - 1 item
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- milk - 2 c
- cubed cheese - 1 lb
- can chicken soup - 1 oz
- minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
How to make broccoli cheese soup:
In a saucepan, bring the water and bouillon cube to a boil. Add broccoli and carrot. Cook 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter and slowly stir in the flour. Continue stirring while gradually adding milk. Stir in the cheese, soup, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Add the broccoli mixture to the white sauce mixture and cook over medium to low heat until desired thickness. Serves 6 to 8.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Cheese, Soups & stews.
