Bread pudding with whiskey sauce
Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 1/3 c
- vanilla extract
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 3/4 c
- raisins - 1/3 c
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon
- ground nutmeg - 1 tsp
- skim milk - 2 c
- egg substitute - 1/2 c
- French bread cubes - 5 c
- whiskey or bourbon - 1/4 c
- Add bread and raisins; stir
How to make bread pudding with whiskey sauce:
Combine sugar, egg, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Add bread and raisins; stir. Spoon mixture into 8 cups. Place in shallow pan with 3/4 inch hot water. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Add Whiskey Sauce.Whiskey Sauce:2 Tbsp. sugar1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 Tbsp. margarine3/4 c. water1/4 c. whiskey or bourbon Combine ingredients in saucepan. Heat and stir.
