Ingredients/Components
- slices bread, cubed raisin bread is especially good - 8 item
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 2 c
- sugar - 1/4 c
- melted butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- raisins use only 1/4 c - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- butter or margarine
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make bread pudding:
Sauce:2 Tbsp. butter or margarine1 Tbsp. flour1 c. water3/4 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Place bread cubes in a greased slow cooker. Beat together eggs and milk. Stir in sugar, butter, raisins and cinnamon. Pour over bread and stir. Cover and cook on high 1 hour. Reduce heat to low and cook 3 to 4 hours or until thermometer reaches 160°.Make sauce just before pudding is done baking. Begin by melting butter in saucepan. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add water, sugar and vanilla. Bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve sauce over warm bread pudding.
