Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 2 tsp
- soda - 6 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 qt
- boiling water - 2 c
- plain flour - 5 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- All-Bran - 4 c
- 100% bran - 2 c
How to make bran muffins:
Mix 100% bran with boiling water and let stand. Cream the Crisco, sugar and eggs together. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Add All-Bran to the dry flour mixture. Add buttermilk to this dry mix. Mix well. Add 100% bran mixture, then add Crisco-sugar mix and stir well. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 375°. Keep batter in refrigerator. Will keep several weeks.
