Boston creme pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 5 Tbsp
- butter
- cornstarch
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- sq - 1 oz
- milk, scalded - 2 c
How to make boston creme pie:
Chocolate Frosting:1/2 c. sugar1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch1 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate dash of salt1/2 c. boiling water1 1/2 Tbsp. butter1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix flour, sugar and salt. Slowly stir in milk. Cook in double boiler for 15 minutes or until thick. Add a little hot mixture to eggs, then stir into all remaining hot mixture. Continue cooking 3 minutes and add vanilla and cool. Spread filling in between already baked 2 layer cake.Chocolate Frosting: Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add chocolate and salt. Add water. Cook until thick. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Spread on top of cake while hot.
