Beef tacos
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- salt
- chili powder
- ground beef - 2 lb
- taco shells - 1 item
- chili sauce - 1/4 c
- garlic cloves, minced - 2 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- medium tomatoes, chopped - 2 item
- cans chopped green chilies, drained - 2 oz
- jar roasted sweet red peppers, drained and chopped - 1 oz
- sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded 1 c - 1/4 lb
- medium head iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced - 1/2 item
- bottled hot or mild taco sauce optional - 1 item
How to make beef tacos:
In skillet over high heat, cook ground beef, onion and garlic until all pan juices evaporated and meat is well browned, stirring frequently. Stir in chili powder; cook 1 minute. Stir green chilies, roasted red peppers, chili sauce, sugar and salt into mixture; over medium heat, heat through. To serve, spoon meat mixture into warm bowl. Arrange shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes and sliced lettuce in separate bowls for taco accompaniments. Let each person spoon some beef mixture into a taco shell, then top with taco accompaniments and taco sauce.Recipe categories: Meat, Beef, North american.
