Ingredients/Components

  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • loaf French bread - 1 item
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1 item
  • 16 oz - 2 c
  • tomatoes, seeded and diced - 2 item
  • 12 oz - 3 c

How to make beef stroganoff sandwich:

In a skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain. Add salt, garlic and pepper. Cut bread lengthwise in half; butter both halves and place on baking sheets. Remove meat mixture from the heat; stir in sour cream. Spoon onto the bread. Sprinkle with tomatoes, pepper and cheese. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted. (Bake longer for crispier bread.)
