Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine, softened - 3/4 c
- flour, sifted - 2 c
- black walnuts, chopped - 3/4 c
- bananas 3 medium, crushed
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to banana mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Mix thoroughly after each addition. Add nuts; mix and pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325° or until done. I put the soda into the buttermilk and dredge the nuts in flour before adding to mixture.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Yeast breads.
