Banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 3 Tbsp
- baking powder
- mashed bananas - 1 c
- nuts, chopped - 1 c
- Crisco shortening - 1/3 c
How to make banana bread:
Cream shortening, sugar and buttermilk until smooth and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, and beat after each. Stir in mashed bananas and nuts. Add flour a little at a time and beat well after each time. Pour into loaf pan that has been well-greased and floured. Let stand 10 minutes and cover with foil. Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake until toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour at 350°.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Quick breads.
