Biscuit topped italian casserole
Ingredients/Components
- hamburger - 1 lb
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- water - 3/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 8 oz
- can tomato paste - 6 oz
- pkg - 9 oz
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
- can buttermilk biscuits - 10 oz
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
How to make biscuit topped italian casserole:
Brown hamburger and onion; drain. Stir in water, pepper, tomato sauce and tomato paste; simmer 15 minutes, stirring. Remove from heat. Add vegetables and 1 1/2 cups cheese. Spoon into greased 2-quart baking dish. Separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Place near outer edge of meat mixture, overlapping. Sprinkle remaining cheese in center and around edge. Brush biscuits with margarine. Sprinkle with oregano. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, One Dish meal.
