Banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- egg, unbeaten - 1 item
- sifted flour - 1 c
- mashed bananas - 1/2 c
- nonfat dry milk - 1 c
- nuts, optional - 1/2 c
How to make banana bread:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and milk; set aside. Blend together shortening and sugar. Add egg; beat hard. Stir in about half of the flour mixture, then stir in bananas. Add rest of flour and mix well. Spread batter evenly into a 8 inch square or loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Double recipe for tube pan and bake for 50 to 55 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Quick breads.
