Baked pork chops and stuffing
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 lb
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- water - 3 c
- all-purpose flour - 1 Tbsp
- corn bread stuffing mix 6 to 8 oz - 1 pkg
- 1/2-inch thick boneless center cut pork chops - 8 item
- envelope Lipton onion soup or French onion soup - 1 item
How to make baked pork chops and stuffing:
In 13 x 9 x 2-inch oval baking dish or 2 1/2 to 3-quart shallow casserole, sprinkle dry mix on bottom. If using 6 ounce package, toss stuffing with contents of seasoning packet.In skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Saute pork until browned, about 3 minutes on each side. Remove pork; drain on paper towel.
Preheat oven to 350°. Add water, onion soup mix and frozen vegetables to same skillet. Cover; bring to boiling. With slotted spoon, remove vegetables. Arrange around edge of baking dish. Remove 1 3/4 cups of liquid from skillet. Pour over vegetables and stuffing. Overlap browned pork on top of stuffing in center of dish. Cover with foil and bake 15 to 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a cup or bowl, mix milk and flour until smooth. Stir into liquid remaining in skillet. Over medium heat, bring mixture to boil, stirring until thickened.
