Applesauce loaf
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- water - 1 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- applesauce - 1 c
- sugar white or packed brown sugar - 1 c
- Mix flour with salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg; add to shortening mixture
How to make applesauce loaf:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs. Mix flour with salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg; add to shortening mixture. Blend in applesauce; fold in nuts. Pour into a loaf-size baking pan and bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.Glaze:1/2 c. confectioners sugar1 Tbsp. water Mix confectioners sugar with water and drizzle over hot applesauce loaf after removing from pan.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 4 hours.
