Apple cinnamon french toast
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- butter - 5 Tbsp
- large eggs - 3 item
- dark corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- large baking apples, peeled and sliced - 2 item
- slices French bread, each 1 inch thick and 4 inches wide - 8 item
How to make apple cinnamon french toast:
The day before, prepare apples and French bread by melting butter in skillet and cooking apples until tender. Add brown sugar, corn syrup and cinnamon. Cook until sugar dissolves. Pour apple mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan and spread evenly. Arrange bread slices on top. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk and vanilla, and pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.The next day, heat oven to 375°. Remove cover and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Invert onto a platter and serve.
