  • chopped apples - 2 c
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • soda - 3/4 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item

How to make apple cake:

Cream together sugar, shortening and egg. Add cinnamon, soda, flour and salt. This mixture will be thick for there is no liquid. Add apples and nuts. Spread out in a flat pan and bake at 325° for 35 to 45 minutes.
