shortening - 1/2 c
sugar - 1 c
egg - 1 item
applesauce
raisins - 1 c
chopped nuts - 1/2 c
flour
soda - 1 tsp
cinnamon - 1 tsp
ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
salt - 1 tsp

How to make applesauce drop cookies:

Sift flour; measure and sift again with the soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Cream the shortening and gradually add the sugar. Beat until creamy, then add the egg and mix thoroughly. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the shortening mixture alternately with the applesauce. Add the raisins and nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for about 15 minutes or until nicely browned.
