All american apple pie
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 1 Tbsp
- packed light brown sugar - 1/4 c
- ground cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- grated lemon zest - 1 tsp
- dark raisins - 1 c
- unbaked, ready-made 9-inch pie crust - 1 item
How to make all american apple pie:
Preheat oven to 425°. Spray a 9-inch deep dish pie plate with vegetable spray. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, flour, lemon zest, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Add apples to sugar mix. Stir until coated. Stir in raisins. Spoon into prepared plate. Place pie crust on top of filling. Trim edges, pressing against edge of pan. Using a sharp knife, cut steam vents in pie crust. To glaze, lightly brush pie crust with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until pie crust is golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes.
