Caramel pecan pie

- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg - 1 1/2
- egg - 1 item
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine, melted - 1/2 c
- dark corn syrup
- reserved cake mix
How to make caramel pecan pie:
Filling:2/3 c. reserved cake mix1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup1 tsp. vanilla3 eggs Grease bottom and sides of a 13 x 9-inch pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling. In mixing bowl, combine remaining dry cake mix, butter and 1 egg. Mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes until light brown.Prepare filling. Pour over partially prepared crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool. Cut into bars. Makes 3 dozen.
