Zesty pork chops
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- ketchup - 1/2 c
- apple - 1 item
- pork chops - 6 item
- syrup - 1/2 c
- liquid shortening - 2 Tbsp
How to make zesty pork chops:
Season chops with salt. Brown in hot shortening; drain.For Sauce: Combine syrup, ketchup, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce; reserve 1/2 cup. Pour remaining sauce over chops. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes. Place apple slice on each chop; top with reserved sauce. Simmer about 25 minutes longer. Remove chops to warm platter. Combine cornstarch and water; stir into sauce. Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce comes to a boil and thickens.
