  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • yeast - 2 pkg
  • oil or shortening - 1/4 c
  • scalded milk

How to make yeast rolls:

Add yeast to water. Melt shortening; scald milk. Cool to lukewarm. In a bowl, put milk, oil, salt, sugar and 2 cups flour. Beat and add yeast and egg. Mix; add remaining flour. Knead on floured board 20 times; divide into rolls in greased pan. Rise about 1 hour. Bake in 400° oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Dough can be refrigerated for several days.
