Ingredients/Components
- self-rising flour - 5 c
- sugar - 1/3 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 1 c
- buttermilk - 2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- warm water - 1/4 c
How to make yeast biscuits:
Mix flour, sugar and soda; add 1 cup Crisco. Mix as for pie crust. Stir in 2 cups buttermilk and 1 package yeast which has been dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water. Mix well. Cover and put in refrigerator. Use as for regular biscuits, rolling and cutting out. Dough will keep in fridge for a week.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
