Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 Tbsp
- salt
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- plain flour - 5 c
- warm water - 2 Tbsp
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make yeast biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. Combine baking powder, salt, soda and flour. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk, sugar and yeast mixture. Knead dough slightly. Put in covered bowl in refrigerator. When chilled, roll out and cut. Bake very slowly about 200° until done.
