Whole wheat bread
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- whole wheat flour - 4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- white flour - 4 c
- very hot tap water - 1 qt
- vegetable or corn oil - 1/2 c
How to make whole wheat bread:
Mix water, salt, sugar and yeast and set aside for 10 minutes. Add both flours and oil to mixture and stir together. Let rise about 1 hour. Stir and let rise again. Stir once more. Divide dough into half. Place in greased loaf pans. Let rise until top of pan. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Makes 2 loaves.Recipe categories: Breads, Low cholesterol, Yeast breads.
