- salt - 3/4 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- raisins optional - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- whole wheat flour - 2 c
- pecans or walnuts optional - 1/2 c
- packed brown sugar or honey - 3/4 c
How to make whole wheat bread:
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add egg and buttermilk. Mix well. Stir in raisins and nuts, if desired. Spoon into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350° for about 35 to 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Low cholesterol, Yeast breads.
