  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • all-purpose flour
  • whole wheat flour - 1/2 c
  • mashed ripe bananas - 1 c
  • vegetable spray - 1 item
  • Puritan oil - 1/4 c

How to make whole wheat banana bread:

Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well and set aside. Combine sugar and oil in a medium bowl. Beat at medium speed two minutes. Add egg; beat. Add flour alternately with bananas, beginning with flour and ending with flour. Stir in vanilla.

Pour batter into an 8 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pan, coated with spray. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes on rack after taking out. Remove from pan and let cool. Yields 16 servings, about 120 calories per 1/2-inch slice.
