Whole wheat banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- whole wheat flour - 1/2 c
- mashed ripe banana about 2 medium - 1 c
How to make whole wheat banana bread:
Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl; stir well and set aside. Combine sugar and oil; beat at medium speed 2 minutes or until well blended. Add the egg and beat until light and lemon colored. On low speed of the mixer, add the flour mixture alternately with the banana, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Blend well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla. Pour the batter into a bread pan coated with vegetable cooking spray; bake it at 350° for 45 minutes. Yields 16 servings at 120 calories per 1/2 inch slice.
