Turtle cake

Ingredients/Components

• evaporated milk - 1/4 c
• bag chocolate chips - 12 oz
• box German chocolate cake mix - 1 item
• bag caramels - 12 oz

How to make turtle cake:

Mix cake mix by box directions. Pour 3/4 of mix into oblong pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch). Bake for 15 minutes. Mix caramels with evaporated milk and melt. Pour that on top of cake, then place chocolate chips on top. Place nuts over chocolate. Pour rest of cake mix on top. Bake until done (remaining time according to the box directions). The toothpick test does not work for doneness on this cake.
