Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1/4 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • can bean sprouts, drained - 1 lb
  • sliced onions - 1/2 c
  • can water chestnuts, drained and thinly sliced - 1 oz
  • chopped turkey, cooked - 2 c

How to make turkey chop suey:

In saucepan, cook onions in butter until tender, but not brown. Add turkey, broth, celery and water chestnuts. Heat to boiling. Combine water, soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir into turkey mixture. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add bean sprouts and heat through. Serve on hot rice. Sprinkle with roasted almonds. If desired, pass additional soy sauce. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
