Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • oil - 3 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • chicken broth
  • thinly sliced celery - 1/2 c
  • Chinese noodles - 1 item
  • can bean sprouts, drained - 1 item
  • black pepper to taste - 1 item
  • roast pork, cut into thin, small strips
  • sliced, raw mushrooms - 1/2 c

How to make chinese-style pork:

In a skillet, heat the oil. Add the onion and cook until transparent. Add the pork, chicken broth, celery, mushrooms and bean sprouts; simmer five minutes.

Blend the cornstarch, sugar, salt, pepper, soy sauce and water. Add to the simmering mixture and cook, stirring, until thickened. Correct the seasonings and serve over crisp Chinese noodles. Makes 4 servings.
