Ingredients/Components
- stick margarine or butter - 1 item
- oil - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- plus 2 tsp - 2 c
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- In a large mixer bowl, sift flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and soda
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- powdered sugar - 1 item
- chopped pecans or walnuts - 1 c
How to make texas sheet cake:
Bring margarine, oil, cocoa and water to a rapid boil; remove from heat and add vanilla. In a large mixer bowl, sift flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and soda. Pour warm mixture over top and blend. Add 2 beaten eggs and 1/2 cup buttermilk. Beat well and pour into well-oiled 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.Topping:1 stick margarine or butter6 Tbsp. milk4 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla powdered sugar1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts Melt margarine. Add milk and cocoa and bring to a boil. Add vanilla. Add powdered sugar to desired thickness. Add nuts, if desired. Spread over hot cake. Can add a few more chopped nuts on top.
