  • In a saucepan, put the oleo or Crisco, cocoa and water

How to make texas chocolate cake:

Sift together the flour and sugar in a mixing bowl. In a saucepan, put the oleo or Crisco, cocoa and water. Bring to a boil. Pour over flour and sugar. Add the baking soda and vanilla. Mix and pour into greased 16 x 11-inch pan. Bake at 325°.Frosting:1 stick oleo4 to 6 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. pecans Into saucepan, put the oleo, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Frost while hot.
