Ingredients/Components
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- skim milk - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- 2 oz - 1/2 c
- can cream-style corn - 1 1/2
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- self-rising cornbread - 1 c
How to make tex-mex cornbread:
Heat oven to 450°. Grease an 8-inch square casserole. Combine cornmeal and cayenne pepper in a large bowl. Add onion, green pepper, cheese, milk, eggs and corn. Mix well. Spoon batter into casserole. Bake at 450° for 25 minutes or until golden. Cut into 2-inch squares. Makes 16 servings.Recipe categories: Breads, Southwestern u.s., Tex Mex.
