  • ribs pork or beef - 3 lb
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • 2 1/2 can sauerkraut
  • medium carrots, sliced - 2 item
  • tomato juice
  • brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • unpared chopped apple - 1 item

How to make tangy short ribs:

Season meat with salt and pepper. Combine all other ingredients and place in 5-quart Dutch oven. Place ribs, meaty side up, atop mixture. Bake, covered, for 3 hours at 350°. Baste meat with juice several times during the last hour of cooking.
