Tamale casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- salsa - 2 c
- onion, chopped - 1 med
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- cumin - 1 tsp
- cornbread mix - 1 pkg
- sharp cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 c
- small bell pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- lean ground pork - 1/2 lb
How to make tamale casserole:
Brown meat, add onions, garlic, bell pepper, chili powder, cumin and salt. Cook 5 min. Check seasoning now! Pour into casserole dish. Top with prepared cornbread batter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Top with cheese when you take it out of the oven. (Canned jalapeno may also be used as a garnish for a spicier dish.Serve with salsa as a side dish.
