Ingredients/Components
- salt
- flour - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- onion, minced - 1 item
- round steak 1-inch thick - 2 lb
- melted fat - 3 Tbsp
- tomatoes or tomato juice - 3 c
How to make swiss steak:
Rub salt and pepper into steak. Dredge with flour. Brown quickly on both sides in hot fat with onion. Add tomatoes; cover tightly and bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours. Serves 8.Recipe categories: American, Main dish, North american.
