- butter, softened - 1/2 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 6 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- coconut - 1/4 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- almond extract - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- coconut extract - 1/4 tsp
- slivered toasted almonds - 1/4 c
- sweet potatoes, boiled tender, peeled and mashed - 1 c
How to make sweet potato pound cake:
Cream shortening and butter. Add sugar; beat well. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk; start and end with flour. Stir in sweet potatoesRecipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Weeknight.
