Sweet and sour slaw
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 3/4 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- celery salt - 1 tsp
- green pepper, finely chopped - 1 item
- mustard seed - 1 tsp
- large head cabbage, coarsely shredded - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour slaw:
Combine shredded cabbage, green pepper and onion in a large bowl. Sprinkle with sugar. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Toss just before serving. Serves about 8.Recipe categories: Salads, Main dish, One Dish meal.
