Congealed salad



Ingredients/Components
- cold water - 1 c
- boiling water
- ice cubes - 1 item
- or 1 large pkg
- thawed Cool Whip nondairy whipped topping
- fruit, drained or 1 c - 1 c
How to make congealed salad:
Completely dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Combine cold water and ice cubes to make 2 1/2 cups. Add to gelatin. Stir until slightly thickened. Remove any unmelted ice. Measure 1 cup of the gelatin. Fold into whipped topping. Pour into 8-inch square pan. Chill about 10 minutes. Add fruit to remaining gelatin; gently spoon over creamy layer in pan. Chill until firm (about 3 hours). Cut into squares. Garnish as desired.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Heirloom/historical.
