Sugar cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• eggs - 3 item
• vanilla - 2 tsp
• milk - 1/4 c
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 4 c
• soda - 1/2 tsp
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• shortening or butter - 1 c

How to make sugar cookies:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternating with milk. Chill.

Roll out or make balls about size of walnut and press flat with glass dipped in sugar. Heat oven to about 350°. Bake about 10 minutes or until very light brown edges appear. Butter gives a good flavor. Can also be decorated.
