  • eggs - 3 item
  • packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla extract - 2 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • raisins optional - 1 item
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • shortening or butter - 1 c
  • flour or more - 3 c

How to make sugar cookies:

Cream together the shortening and sugars until creamy and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Stir in sour cream, blending well. Sift dry ingredients with flour. Add to batter with lemon or vanilla extract. Add enough flour so dough can be easily rolled out.
