Sugar and spice nuts
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- grated orange peel - 1 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground ginger - 1/2 tsp
- egg white - 1 item
- orange juice - 1 Tbsp
- ground allspice - 1/2 tsp
- lightly salted, mixed nuts - 3 c
How to make sugar and spice nuts:
Place nuts in a large bowl. In a small bowl, beat egg white and orange juice with a fork until foamy. Add sugar, orange peel, cinnamon, ginger and allspice; mix well. Pour over nuts and stir to coat. Spread into ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan. Bake at 275° for 45 to 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Winter, Fall.
