Stuffed green peppers
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- oil - 8 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- ground beef - 1/2 lb
- bread crumbs - 1/3 c
- minced onion - 3 Tbsp
- large green peppers - 4 item
- canned tomatoes
- boiled white rice - 2 c
- powdered sage - 3/4 tsp
- thick meat sauce
How to make stuffed green peppers:
Wash peppers, cut a thin slice from stem end and remove seeds. Cover with boiling salted water and simmer 5 minutes. Drain.Meanwhile, cook beef and onion in 4 teaspoons oil in skillet for 5 minutes or until done. Add salt, pepper, sage, meat sauce, rice and tomatoes and combine. Stuff peppers with this mixture and top with bread crumbs which have been combined with remaining 4 teaspoons oil. Arrange peppers in greased baking dish and bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes or until tender and brown on top.
