  • sugar
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1/4 c
  • cold water
  • lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
  • fresh strawberries - 1 qt
  • baked pie shell - 1 item
  • drops red food color - 3 item

How to make strawberry pie:

Combine sugar and half of the cold water in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Dissolve cornstarch in remaining cold water, and whisk gradually into syrup mix. Cook over low heat until clear, whisking frequently. Add salt, lemon juice and food color. Pour over berries, stir lightly to coat, and let cool. Add to baked pie shell. Garnish with whipped cream.
