Strawberry pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cornstarch - 6 Tbsp
- water - 6 c
- fresh strawberries - 2 3
- Cool Whip topping - 1 item
- deep dish pie shells - 2 item
- large boxes strawberry Jell-O - 2 item
How to make strawberry pie:
Brown 2 deep dish pie shells. Bring water and sugar to a full boil. Stir in cornstarch into a cup and add water until liquid forms. Stirring constantly, add to boiling water and sugar mixture. Remove from heat and add strawberry Jell-O. Stir until dissolved. Cool 15 to 20 minutes. Don't add berries while liquid is hot because it will cook them. Fold in strawberries. (Taste better if strawberries are cut up to release more flavor.) Pour into already baked pie crusts. Place in refrigerator and let set 4 to 6 hours or until set. Makes 2 deep dish pies (it depends on thickness and amount of berries). Top with Cool Whip topping, if desired.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
