Squash casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- fine bread crumbs - 1 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- grated sharp cheese - 1 c
- shredded raw squash - 1 lb
- or 5 strips fried bacon, drained - 4 item
How to make squash casserole:
Saute onion in small amount of bacon drippings. Crumble bacon and mix with onions, squash, bread crumbs, milk and seasonings. Add cheese, saving a bit to sprinkle on top. Place in casserole dish and bake in medium oven for about 1 hour.Recipe categories: Squash, Side dish, Casseroles.
